Flux starts design research on subsidence in 'Groene Hart'
Flux landscape architecture has won the tender 'Ontwerpend onderzoek bodemdaling Groene Hart'. In a case study for the Province of Utrecht, Flux will focus on the area between Kamerik, Kockengen and Haarzuilens. The research will examine the extent to which adjustments in the soil and water system can form the basis for future spatial developments. The research is part of a larger study of the peatland issues and subsidence in the Green Heart. At the same time, two other case studies are being carried out by Peter de Ruyter (South Holland) and Vista (North Holland). The design research will be supervised by a core team from the Province of Utrecht, led by Michiel van Dongen and Paul Roncken (Provinciaal Adviseur Ruimtelijke Kwaliteit).
Laurierkwartier winning design for building plot Hoge Weide
The team of AM, Faro architects, Flux landscape architecture and LPB Sight won the tender for the last building plot of Hoge Weide, Utrecht. Laurierkwartier, as the winning design is named, marks the transition between high urban Leidsche Rijn Centrum and the sub urban Hoge Weide. The plan is characterized by strong urban facades and a large green courtyard, with a focus on social interaction and sports in the heart of the block. In the coming months the plan will be further developed and will be realized by the end of 2019.
Team VORM wins tender nature inclusive design in Binckhorst The Hague!
Team VORM, with Flux landscape architecture en LEVS architects, has won the tender for the development of a nature inclusive tower in the Binckhorst area in The Hague. Flux and Levs have made a design for the Binck Blocks, a 115-meter-high tower with a lush and green character that will introduce a new biotope to the Binckhorst for birds, bees, butterflies, insects and bats.
In collaboration with Bureau Stadsnatuur, Van Rossum RI, W/E Adviseurs, Ingenieursbureau Linssen, DPA Cauberg-Huygen, Klimaatgarant en Vaecon.
Flux gives lecture to students of the 'Academie van Bouwkunst Amsterdam'
Gerwin de Vries from Flux landscape architecture has given a lecture about Flux's projects and its approach. Students from the 'Academie van Bouwkunst Amsterdam' came to visit Flux in Rotsoord together with the new head of the landscape architecture department Hanneke Kijne.
Flux is selecting trees for the project of Notenboomplein IJmuiden en Houthavens
Flux visited the tree nursery 'M van den Oever' in order to pick out trees that will be used in the projects of 'Notenboomplein IJmuiden' and Houthavens.
Flux is developing a water vision for Hoogheemraadschap van Delfland
Flux landscape architecture will develop, together with a team from 'Hoogheemraadschap van Delfland', a water vision for the Hoogheemraadschap van Delfland. The goal of the water vision is to describe and visualize the ambitions of the Hoogheemraadschap of Delfland regarding future spatial and social developments. The water vision will be ready by the end of 2019.
Commissioned by the Municipality of Leuven, Flux designed a new public fountain on the Herbert Hooverplein in Leuven. The fountain is a new public space that includes play opportunities for children. The design was implemented by Rotsmaatwerk.
Flux will work on the reinforcement of the Grebbedike between Wageningen and Rhenen, commissioned by Waterschap Vallei en Veluwe (WSVV). Flux will collaborate with engineering office Lievense, Eric Luiten, Rijkswaterstaat, Staatsbosbeheer, Province of Utrecht, Province of Gelderland and the municipality of Wageningen. During the research Flux will propose several spatial solutions, which will be reviewed both technically and spatially.
