Final results of design research Groene hart presented
The Cope Scape project was presented on 20 May as part of the final results of the Groene Hart design research. In a case study for the Province of Utrecht, Flux focused on the area between Kamerik, Kockengen and Haarzuilens. The project shows that necessary adjustments to the soil and the water system can form the basis for future spatial developments. The research is part of a larger study of peat meadow problems and subsidence in the Groene Hart and was supervised by a core team from the Province of Utrecht, led by Michiel van Dongen and Paul Roncken (Provincial Advisor on Spatial Quality).
Flux's design for a park in IJmuiden is in progress. The design is commissioned by Synchroon. The development of the surrounding architecture was designed by OZ architects. In collaboration with the municipality of Velsen.
On Friday 7 June, Flux went together with interested parties from Arcam on a field trip to the Ilperveld. This excursion is part of the Parliament of Park wedges: An annual program in which attention is paid to the Amsterdam Park Wedges (the landscape that penetrates far into the city in the form of linked parks and water) and the (re)development of it. Together with three other agencies, Flux has been asked to investigate how these park wedges can be preserved as the green counterpart of the city and at the same time deliver productive, ecological or economic added value. In the coming year Flux will make an elaboration for two of these park wedges, the Waterland park wedge and the Zaanse park wedge. The results of the study will be presented in December.
Team VORM wins tender Trekvlietzone lot 1B in The Hague!
Team VORM, with Groosman architects and Flux landscape architecture, has won the tender for the development of BinckPARK, a public parking garage with a collective rooftop park in Binckhorst, The Hague. The roof park of BinckPARK will play an important role in the urban green structure by providing space for flora and fauna, such as birds, insects and bats. The design integrates urban nature and human use. Ecological principles are also used to strengthen the biodiversity of the city and improve the urban climate (clean air, water buffering and reduction of the heat island effect). The roof park is water neutral, copes with peak showers and buffers rainwater for planting during dry periods in a smart way. At BinckPARK we pull nature into the city, close to the city dwellers. In collaboration with Klimaatgarant, W/E Adviseurs, Buro Bouwfysica, Pieters Bouwtechniek, Erik Stuit and Vaecon.
Flux is looking for new interns per August/September.
Interview Flux on Greenville
Flux has given an interview about the Greenville project in Leidsche Rijn. Greenville is a new green urban form of living in the center of Leidsche Rijn in which landscape and building merge. In the design, the building and the garden function as a fully self-sufficient water machine. Rainwater is being collected and can be used again for watering the plants. Commissioned by Heijmans and in collaboration with Diederendirrix, Bedaux de Brouwer and HilberinkBosch. Interview by Redactiegasten

Flux landscape architecture has received an assignment for the 'Park De Watertoren' in Overvecht. In collaboration with the owner of the water tower, architect Ruud Visser and the Municipality of Utrecht, an analysis will be made and used to develop a number of scenarios for the park. This will look at the possible functions that can be implemented into the water tower in the future and how this relates to the park and the green framework of Overvecht. Commissioned by the Municipality of Utrecht.
